Can my Kitten Eat Dog Food?

Q: Is it okay that my kitten prefers my dogs' food to her own kitten food? I feed my dogs good food and they are healthy, but I also want her to be healthy. A: Pets always want some one else's food! I do NOT recommend allowing your kitten to eat dog food as her main diet. Dogs and cats have very different nutritional needs and therefore their diets are not interchangeable. Try finding another kitten food that she will love!

Dogs and cats should not eat diets that are not specifically formulated for their individual species. I think once in a while it wouldn't hurt them. GAR Labs

I have a small dog nursing orphan kittens. The kittens are starting to be curious about the food dish. Should I give the dog kitten food so the kittens can learn to start eating it, or dog food.
