Q: Our cat seems to have lost her meow. Can a cat get laryngitis?
A: If your cat is completely normal other than losing her meow I would not consider it an emergency. This can sometimes resolve on its own. The loss of voice points to some problem in the laryngeal area. Your veterinarian can examine your cat and do routine bloodwork including a thyroid level. If your vet feels that it is necessary they would have to sedate your cat in order to fully examine the larynx.
