Bud Light 2012 Super Bowl Commercial Helps Rescue Pets
Published February 6, 2012
In their 2012 Super Bowl commercial featuring a rescue dog named Weego, Bud Light promoted a cause that will help rescue pets.
"Here Weego."
That was the tagline of a successful Super Bowl commercial spot from Bud Light that portrayed a cute pooch fetching party-goers a Bud Light upon hearing his name. It was one of the brighter spots in an otherwise lackluster pool of Super Bowl commercials, but what makes the ad even sweeter is that the commercial is actually helping rescue pets.
That's right: not only is Weego the adorable canine star of an advertisement on advertising's biggest stage, but he is also a real-life rescue pet. And, in honor of Weego, Bud Light tied in a promotional campaign with the ad; for every new "like" on the Bud Light Facebook page, the company will donate $1 (up to $250,000) to famed baseball manager Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation, ARF.
In case you missed the commercial, you can watch it below:

Really cool! Going to 'like' bud light now.
I think it is terrific that Bud Light used their Super Bowl commercial to help rescue pets. They should use that commercial all the time And now I'm going to like Bud on Facebook. I have three rescue dogs, 2 mixed breeds and one a pure bred German Shepherd and they are all terrific and sweet pets. Thank you Bud Light!
