And then...there were seven. Seven dogs were chosen from the pool of over 2,700 canines. Seven dogs who best represented their breed, and eventually their American Kennel Club recognized Group, rose to compete in the Best in Show contest at America's most prestigious dog show on the iconic green carpet of America's most famous arena.

Receiving ovations from the crowd, old favorites and unexpected competitors like the Old English Sheepdog captivated the hearts of those in attendance and those watching afar on TV or online. While all were certainly worthy of praise in their own right, only one can win Westminster's Best in Show.

This year, the honor of being crowned Best in Show at the 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has gone to an Affenpinscher called Banana Joe. This pooch rose from the pool of those displayed on Day 1 and advanced from the field of almost 2,700 dogs to compete in and eventually win Westminster's Best in Show prize. Congrats, Banana Joe!

Banana Joe was my pick and was thrilled when he won! BJ is a "BIG" little dog, what a sweetie. You Rock Banana Joe...enjoy your retirement!

Love Banana Joe, but was secretly pulling for "Oakley" the German Wire-haired Pointer. Thought "Payton" the English Springer Spaniel should have won the sporting class, however -- even over Oakley.

such an enjoyable and entertaining show to watch with all the other garbage thats on. the little dog banana joe is adorable. having been in sporting events most of my life I can say judging is always biased but with this competition there are no losers no matter who is picked they are all adorable.

I felt Judge Dougherty was arrogant and too subjective ...he should retire. He just passed over many beautiful dogs with nary a glance.

I was totally disappointed in the judging!! I also think the judges are biased to certain breeds. I have watched many a time and seen some gorgeous dogs get "thrown under the bus" I hate to say that the dog that won was not a pretty one at all. Just my humble opinion. lol

gr8of3, it's not about picking the prettiest dog. It's about the dog that most represents the breed standard.
