Best Cat Video on the Internet?
Published September 4, 2012
A video titled "Henri 2, Paw de Deux" has been proclaimed the "Best Cat Video on the Internet".
Cat videos are commonplace on the Web, and have almost become synonymous with what many people use the Internet for. The popularity of these videos even skyrocketed to the point that, last week, the first ever Internet Cat Video Film Festival, an event dedicated to showcasing and awarding the achievements of these viral videos, was held. With every film festival comes its own awards, and last week was no exception.
In the first ever festival dedicated solely to cat videos, a video titled "Henri 2, Paw de Deux" won big, and was proclaimed "Best Cat Video on the Internet".
The video, which features top of the line cinematography on the part of director Will Braden, covers the supposed "plight' of a sad French cat named Henri. The cat faces many trials and tribulations, including not being paid enough attention to, having to undergo intense grooming to maintain his impeccable coat, and having to deal with "morons" (a term which encompasses both humans and companion cats) that he is surrounded by. All in all, the short film captures the stereotyped individual nature of a companion cat.
The video was one of 79 films (narrowed down from a pool of 10,000) shown in all at last week's event, but proved to be the night's most popular. Without further ado, we present to you "Henri 2, Paw de Deux", which can be viewed below in its entirety:
What do you think after watching? Is this short film worthy of acclaim as the "Best Cat Video on the Internet"? Share in a comment!
