"Be the Change" Challenge - Strength in Numbers
Published April 16, 2010http://www.firstgiving.com/widgets/fgwidget.swf?EggId=1176455They say there is strength in numbers. Today, pet bloggers and pet enthusiasts around the web are uniting to make a change. "Be the Change" has been buzzing around the pet blogoshpere for a while now - have you heard of it? Are you up for the challenge?
We're asking everyone to work together as one huge, amazing, animal-loving group to make an effort to raise some money for Pets Without Parents, a no-kill animal shelter located in the Clintonville area of Columbus, Ohio. They were chosen at random during the "Be the Change" session at BlogPaws 2010, first annual Pet Blogger Convention.
If you're thinking: "Oh man, I really want to help animals but I'm broke and really busy." We say: "Who isn't!?" There are lots of ways you can help that may seem really small but if enough people join the effort it can make a huge difference.
So what can you do?
Donate anything you can! No amount is too small and every little bit helps! Strength in numbers, remember?
Contribute to your local shelter! Shelters always need stuff - food, blankets, toys, bowls, old digital cameras. You know you have this stuff just collecting dust in your house. Isn't it time for a spring cleaning?
Check out the "pawty" on Twitter for a good cause! Join us on Twitter on April 21 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. EST and tweet with the hashtag #blogpawty. What's a "pawty?" Learn about it here! If you don't have twitter but want to check it out anyway, you can watch the streaming conversation here
Post a link to the donation page to your Facebook wall and ask your friends to do the same. Maybe someone you know will be able to contribute.
Have you ever thought you can Be the Change, just by tweeting or sharing a link with your friends? It really is that easy!!
Can you think of other ways you can change an orphan animal's life? What have you done to help? Leave a comment and let us know. After you do that, GO, spread the word and change the world!
