Animal Cruelty: 6 Puppies and Mother Abandoned

An English bulldog mix and her six puppies were the victims of animal cruelty when an Ohio man tried abandoning them in a suitcase. Editor's Note: This is NOT the English bulldog from the story.

A local Ohio newspaper, The Toledo Blade, has reported what is surely going to be looked at as animal cruelty. Apparently, an Ohio man thought it'd be a good idea to try to abandon six puppies and their mother in a canvas bag. For reasons yet unknown, the man decided to try to dump the seven animals in the trash.

As is mostly the case with these sad situations, bystanders found the bag and informed the proper authorities in order to rescue the animals. While our endangered dogs will hopefully have a happy ending to their sad story, the story is just beginning for the man who stands accused of these crimes.

Aside from the legal ramifications this man will face (his punishment should be pretty severe in this writer's opinion), he'll also be the subject of criminal criticism for awhile to come. The man was tracked down by authorities for making a rookie mistake you'd have to read to believe; he left his contact information on a luggage tag attached to the bag of puppies left behind. Assuming that the man charged is convicted of his crimes, that's pretty bad as far as criminal scheming is concerned.

This guy sounds like a winner in every sense of the word, doesn't he?

What do you think about this act of animal cruelty? Should this crook be crowned "Dumbest Criminal of 2012"? Share your thoughts in a comment!

Just like any other animal abuser, this one should be charged with 7 counts of animal abuse. His stupid self should be thrown into a trash compactor. If judges would stop being such wimps and give these abusers the ultimate maximum punishment then maybe some of this would stop. It will only get worse if judges just give a slap on the wrist. I wish I was a judge, Id stand up for them since none of you morons will. Thank you for the people who found them and rescued them. I still think the death penalty should apply because this is just the same as attempted murder.

Put him in a bag for eack court appearence and move to jail. Minimum 3years for each animal to run CONSECUTIVELY. If he does it to animals, I will bet my life he will kill a person next; to the progression in sociopaths mentality. Ther is NO CURE only the death penalty, to get rid of them. I worked 11 years in NYS prisons and know this for a fact. I would line up the bleeding heart liberals and ACLU members, as their victims. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Whoever did this is a failure to humanity, but it isn't totally unreasonable that the bag came with the tag from a previous owner. A garage sale or thrift store purchase, or perhaps the name of someone that the perpetrator is trying to harass. There is plenty to provide reasonable doubt as to the perpetrators identity. Thank god for innocence until proven guilty.

They should hang him.

What is wrong with this man? Was taking the mother and the puppies to an animal shelter too much effort? I hope one day when this man needs mercy that someone shows him kindness instead of treating him like he treated those poor dogs.I hope he thinks about this.
