Amadeus the Chihuahua: World's Smallest Pool Shark

Published September 24, 2010

Animals are highly intelligent, so it doesn't surprise me at all that our furry, finned and feathered companions are gifted with a wide variety of innate talents.

For starters there is species of birds that communicate with humans by "speaking" in their native language. There are rats that run wires through holes in walls to assist plumbers.

Dolphins have an uncanny ability to connect with humans on an extraordinary and often healing level, and pigs are famous for digging up those hidden culinary treasures: rare truffles.

It is a well known fact that a purring cat can significantly lower a person's blood pressure while sitting on their lap, and there are even equine-savvy folks who teach horses to count by using their hooves just to demonstrate their mathematical proficiency.

Canine lovers who spend time closely observing their dog will invariably claim their dog has a delectable sense of humor and has a special talent. Cat lovers can always share some amazing stories about their feline's prowess that will have folks in stitches.

However, dogs are generally extremely protective of their humans and are famous for their loyalty. One of the most fiercely loyal and protective dogs in the Canine kingdom, is the Chihuahua. These little guys are often fearless and I suspect have no clue at all that they are so diminutive.

Chihuahuas thrive on their owner's attention and need considerable exercise. They also love being petted. The breed is famous for their eagerness to please and thoroughly enjoy their human's company, and eagerly get involved in their activities.

So when my friend Steve sent me the video of Amadeus, the world's smallest pool player, brilliantly running the table at Robin's Billiards in Monroe, WA., I laughed myself silly.

If I were a gambler, I'd bet my bottom dollar he would give Minnesota Fats a run for his money.

So take a moment out of your busy day to relax and enjoy this fetching video uploaded to YouTube by robinsbilliards.
